This celebrity mashup allows users to search for their favorite actress, model, or singer. The site uses Yahoo, Google, and YouTube. For every female celebrity, people can look up their profile, pictures, videos, and recent news about them. Personally, I do not see any real purpose for this site, other than learning simple facts about your favorite female celebrity and looking up racy pictures of her. In my opinion, it might be more of a site for men since most of the pictures are a bit too sexy for a woman's taste. Under videos for singers, the site has video clips of their performances; this is really the only useful thing I can see with using this site. The layout and structure of the site is nice and inviting, but the actual content is unnecessary and pointless.

Google Phone
According to The New York Times online, the first Google phone should be announced next week on September 23. T-Mobile will be the provider of the Android software cellular phone. The phone is being produced by HTC but will most likely not be available for sale until October. But, details of the new phone will be released at a press release in New York. This Google phone is expected to become a direct competitor for Apple's iPhones and the BlackBerrys. I think all three of these high-tech phones are great, but they are only great for the people that are tech-savy and "cool hunters" when it comes to technology. I, for one, am horrible when it comes to figuring out how to work these fancy phones and would much rather like one that is simple and does not have internet and extra features. Dont get me wrong, i think having internet and email access is good for certain business and busy people, just not everyone. Altogether though, i think this new Google phone should be pretty cool to see next month. I'm predicting it could have as much success as the iPhone did when it first came out since Google is an extremely popular and well-known company like Apple.

Electronic Newspaper
Technology has come a very long way from even just a decade ago. In The New York Times article, “New E-Newspaper Reader Echoes Look of the Paper,” by Eric A. Taub, he discusses how newspapers will soon be able to be in an electronic version. This is not just by email and Internet though! Plastic Logic is coming out with “an electronic newspaper reader.” It is made out of plastic and has a lightweight screen but can be read like a real newspaper, with paper turns and everything. It can be updated whenever via a link and can store important documents and even books too. However, this product and the newspaper companies that subscribe to this electronic paper are kind of kicking themselves in the rear end. The newspaper’s websites provide news information for free, so why would people want to buy the electronic paper device when they can just go on the Internet? Personally, I would rather read a paper version of a newspaper because I can just comprehend more than on a computer or tiny plastic screen. Also, the younger generation these days would rather get their information off the Internet anyway. However, it is a very cool concept to have a smaller paper that won’t smudge or leave marks on your fingers and that can be portable.

Chrome
According to CNN.com, Google just released a new web browser called Chrome. It is in direct competition with Microsoft's Internet Explorer. The browser works with Microsoft Windows and is still working on making the browser compatible with Apple and Linux systems. However, it is a little ironic that Google is coming out with their new browser a week after the Internet Explorer 8 was released. Google's Chrome is supposed to be a more sophisticated Web browser. Although the product might be great, it sounds to me that the tensions between Microsoft and Google exceed the story of the new Web browsers. This story suggests that since Chrome is more sophisticated, it will be easier for people to customize their online preferences. I am curious to see what Chrome really is and what makes it stand out from the rest of the Web browsers out there.
